Ingrid Sturgis is an associate professor in the Department of Media, Journalism and Film at Howard University. Where she teaches Digital Media Literacy, Multimedia Storytelling and Interactive Copy Editing. She has worked as a reporter and editor for the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Times-Herald Record and the Poughkeepsie Journal, and as a managing editor for magazine start-ups BET Weekend and Savoy. She also worked as a senior programming manager for AOL Black Voices and editor-in-chief for Essence.com. She is co-author of “Social Media: Pedagogy and Practice” and editor of the anthology “Are Traditional Media Dead.” Ingrid has a master’s in journalism from N.Y.U. and a B.A. in art from City College of New York.
